Intervention

How long can you hide behind excuses?

It’s just another lie that seduces,

Begging to dismiss everything in your presence,

So you can lay ontop of it in silence.

Again and again you try to reconcile,

How was it you became so vile?

That you can no longer be yourself,

pick another character off your shelf.

A lie will always be a lie,

you can’t be merry eating your pie.

As it weighs you down an inch at a time,

you wait to hear the bells chyme.

“This is the last call for alcohol”

prepare to sink back into your hole.

Does it count to feel so high?

When there’s nobody waiting to say “BYE”.
